General Apprenticeships
Companies may offer employees over 21 years old a General Apprenticeship. Apprenticeships usually include qualifications up to levels 3 – 4 of the New Zealand Qualifications Framework.
Once it is decided which apprenticeship programme is to be undertaken, the apprentice works through each qualification within his/her programme. As each level is completed, the apprentice achieves a national certificate for that level.
The national qualification selected and unit standards to be studied, are agreed between the employer, apprentice and PaMPITO. An Individual Learning Plan is then created to guide the apprentice through the programme so that unit standards are completed in the correct order.
Unit standards are the building blocks of the qualifications we offer. Each qualification is made up of a selection of compulsory and elective (where you able to pick your own from a selection of) unit standards.
