Becoming a Workplace Accessor

In-house workplace assessors are an extremely important part of workplace training.  They provide flexibility in the timing of the assessment process in the workplace and ensure your company has a hands-on approach to training.  Workplace Assessors are recognised by their companies, by the industry and by PaMPITO as being experts in their field.

If you would like to become a workplace assessor you need to:

  1. Contact your Training Services Manager.  They will go through the current training in your workplace and the training you could be assessing.
  2. Fill out an application form – your Training Services Manager can help with this.  You’ll need to provide your contact details, as well as the unit standards you’re applying to assess.
  3. Attach your CV to the application.  Your CV should show that you have had practical experience working in the area that you want to assess.
  4. Have achieved unit standard 4098 (Use standards to assess candidate performance).  If you haven’t already achieved this unit, we can help you achieve it.

Costs

There is an assessor registration fee of $150+GST per annum which is required to complete the application.  Your registration fee covers:

  • Your assessor log book
  • Your assessor manual
  • Two workplace training network meetings, which you will be invited to each year
  • Individual meetings on-site with PaMPITO Assessment Advisors where you can go through training and assessment requirements specific to your workplace
  • Assessment observations and moderation carried out by PaMPITO
  • Copies of PaMPITO assessment documentation

For any information on the above email kathryn@pampito.org.nz or call Kathryn Henderson on 09 254 4877.
